They are wide and comfy. The stools were easy to put together. And, although it is to soon to tell how long they will last, they appear to be sturdy. I did not want to spend over 150 on a single stool for at my kitchen bar. I saw this set for nearly half of what a single stool would of cost. It was a easy decision. Here is what I found:Pros: - seem sturdy - large seating area. Leather is soft and there is ample padding for extended seating. (14 inches deep!) - comes with all hardware - Cherry finish look really good - Fairly heavy Cons: - gave me several tiny splinters while assembling. - assembly can be tricky. You find some tricks that will help it be sturdy. - Buttons on top of leather seem like they will come off after repeated use. Simply put these are GREAT stools for the price.
