I had only heard good things about the Carolina Cottage line of affordable tables and chairs. When I checked the price and saw the poor reviews, I was surprised but I decided to go ahead and purchase the table last night. With Prime shipping, it arrived and was on my doorstep before I returned from appointments this afternoon. Fortunately, it wasn't as heavy as I expected and easily slid through my front door. The top and bottom arrived packaged individually but in the same shipping carton. Before I began assembling it, I checked over each piece and counted the nuts, bolts, washers, screws, levelers and tools. Everything was accounted for and in perfect condition. The table took less than 45 minutes to assemble which as a 56-year-old woman with some physical difficulties is quite an accomplishment! I already had one friend stop in and he couldn't believe what I paid for it. I will definitely continue to purchase items from Amazon as well as from Carolina Cottage.

I was wary of purchasing a table like this online because I had read so many horror stories of people who had purchased similar tables from Target and Walmart (cracked wood, missing pieces). But the reviews here convinced me to try and I am very happy I did.

Like another woman here said to do, I checked that I had all the pieces needed (they were there, as well as the tools needed) before I began putting it together. It did take a little thought because the directions are limited to drawings: (the tiny 'spring washers' don't get put on until step two, otherwise use the large washers) (also when inserting the wooden slats that hold the table portions upright, insert so that the hole is facing you and is reachable -- it's a finger hole).

I just received my table and do have to say that I am empressed. To tell you the truth, after reading the other reviews, I was quite skeptical about purchasing this table. Like the hard headed person that I am, I went ahead and purchased it anyways. I didn't know what to expect when it first arrived. I read about how some people received only the table top or others received only the base. I was extremely happy to see the delivery man carrying both packages. Some people also mentioned that once they opened the boxes, pieces of the table were damaged/broken. After throughly inspecting all pieces, the only damage that I was lucky to receive is a slight, tiny scratch on the table top [which I can fix]. I am very satisfied with my table. I wish the best of luck to the next person that purchases it. I hope my review was helpful. :]
