We bought this counter-height dining table to replace our standard-height oak pedestal table that we've had for years, and we're really glad we did! The chairs are very comfortable, and rather than eating dinner with our plates on our laps watching TV, we now find ourselves going to the dining table and forgetting about the TV altogether! The slightly elevated counter height is really more comfortable, and I'm not a tall person (only 5'3", and I'm probably exaggerating about 1/2"!). It really is nice to dine at the table again; and, the table has a butterfly leaf built in, so if we have four friends over, we're all set for dinner for six! (I have two extra stools from our kitchen counter that are very similar.) The wood grain on the table has a "distressed look", so overall, the table and chair set is quite appealing and comfortable!
