Well, I really don't know where to rate this really, I was torn between 2 and 3 starts. When it is assembled it looks pretty nice. It's the hassle getting everything and putting it together that really put it between 2 and 3 stars! When we received the package, it was in pretty bad shape. Once opened the styrofoam was completely smashed up, it was so bad and so many small pieces we had to take the vacuum and vacuum out all of it, what a MESS! About 3/4's of the all the pieces were broken, scratched up so bad that there was no way we were going to assemble them the way it was.
We bought it from CCCStores and they worked with us in contacting the company and shipping out replacement parts and let me tell you NOTHING in this is assembled, not even the baskets. We got most of the replacement parts, 2 pieces never came. So we started the daunting task of assembling it. Instructions are NOT that great and this comes with glue, GLUE! This bench is a great deal. It's of very good quality, sturdy, and is perfect for an entry area. It looks really nice and serves a lot of purposes for us (with 2 kids). We thought about getting the bigger bench, but this one deceptively can hold a good amount of storage (hats, gloves, loose items). This was the only bench we could find that had all these features (bench, drawers, cubbies) and be at a reasonable price like this. We didn't have any damaged pieces like other reviews thankfully.
As for assembling this - it is work. I'm a handy person and it took me 3 hours to assemble everything. I also spent about an hour beforehand to make sure I fully understood the instructions (no words, just pictures). So I knew what I was getting into and figured it'd take me about 3 hours. If you're not handy and/or don't go over the instructions beforehand, then you're looking at 4-5 hours to assemble. It's not difficult, but there are a lot of different pieces and hardware, and it's...Read more
