Couldn't quite bring myself to pay the $ for the Emeco, but this is very similar and working well so far (had it about a month) - I have a few other not-quite-Emeco chairs that have served me well for five+ years now.
Having a cushion is crucial in cold weather - Crate & Barrel "Delta" cushions fit perfectly.

For the price, this chair is not an unreasonable value. It is made to reproduce the classic Navy chair of the 1940s and, as such, presents a timeless design at a very low price. But upon close inspection, it's apparent that this means quality does suffer a bit. The seat of the chair I purchased has some slight discoloration and various spots in which parts meet are rough to the touch. From afar, you might be fooled into thinking it's the real thing. Up close, however, the fact that this is a cheap chair, in every sense of the word, is readily apparent. It'll do fine if you're not too discriminating but don't expect excellent quality for this price.

To my untrained eyes these look as good as the ones that are sold for $200 to $400 each (or more) at Room and Board. The only issue I could see is some of the finishing on the bottom of the chairs (which no one sees when the chairs have all 4 legs on the floor) was a little rough. The next time I go to Room and Board I will hold their chairs upside down and see if theirs are similiar. Of course these don't have any brand name on them. The chairs were packed very well with lots of that styrofoam packing "paper" to prevent scratches. They're light weight.
I ordered them on Sunday a week ago. When I checked the status the next day, Monday, they had already shipped. They went from NY to my place in San Francisco in a week.
They look great, aren't expensive, and arrived fast. I'm a happy camper.
