Bunk bed has heavy gauge 3" diameter metal tubing, full length guardrails and a sturdy welded metal slat system for mattress support. Uses a standard twin size mattress and a full size futon mattress (sold separately). Only use a twin size mattress that is 74-75" long and 37.5-38.5" wide on the upper bunk. Bunk bed is tested and certified by an independent testing laboratory to meet all minimum requirements of ASTM F1427-04 and U.S. CFR Title 16 Part 1513.
